So, we have a sleeping giant in our church, we found him yesterday, sleeping right in the middle of service… His name… Shorty, a gentle giant with a good heart and a too small sword. darren dude, I know the sermons are rough but at least be like the rest of us and fall asleep in your chair. Kudos to little man though for callin him out on the infraction. More on this story later. Back to you Bob.

So im learning to play the guitar right now, (thanks paul) and its pretty rough to be honest with ya. Persistance it a virtue…. i think… or it should be anyways. Its pretty rough to see a 13 yr old thats awesome and im pretty terrible hahah(yea Allyssa(sp?) u rock… so stop) I had, like everyone else this awesome visual of myself being this awesome dude that just sits in his room all day long and just plays awesome music…. nooot just yet haha. Keep a brotha in prayer hahah

So I got the biggest tooth in the world removed from my mouth the other day. I’m pretty sure I’m part T-rex after this one guys, really its pretty rough. Now I have a new wonderful hole in my mouth and a never- ending pain to go along with it. So I wanted to give some tips to those of you who might go through something like this in the future because I had pretty much ZERO help with this one.

1- NEVER suck through a straw
2- Soup is your friend
3- blog about it
4- get a good mouthwash
5- get a better pain medicine!!
6- get more pain medicine
7- try to sleep (yeah right)
8- pray…….. A lot
9- call your doctor on call at like 3 o’clock and just whine for like an hour(made me feel better)
10- and last but not least keep your toung outta there!!!! EEEEWWWWW!!!!!

Ok granted folks, i dont blog enough and im workin on it ok. But this one just somply had to be put down before being lost in the eternal black hole that is my mind.

So, after a long talk with my sister’s fiance about both of our very similar pasts, and giving spriritual advice to him and a few encouraging words about what hes going through as a result of that past, I am now on my way to work. Now, if you didnt know this is like a 2 minute drive if that evety morning. Generally a very mundane, simple, uneventful drive to the old sprint store. I turn on to perry hill road to find one of my 1,376,746,876,978,464,287,562,897,564,506 pet peives, a guy the nose of his car out about 15 feet in to the road (yeah it was a long car ok). So i get the idea and the world seems to freeze while i watch this cat just watch the road in front of him as if to say “well why cant your car just fly over mine?”

It’s time to fix this, right? Now i probably havent used the horn on my car once while on the road since i got it back in 2007 ok. SOOO I decide now is the time!! Here i go folks, BEEEEEPPPPP!! and give em a dirty look right?? Well i did it, and at that very moment, im not sure but im pretty sure this guy’s head turned green and started spinning or something…. i think? And stuff… and junk….

So im on my little merry way thinking yeah i showed him. I get to work and there he is…. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!! Right in the parking lot looking at me and i mean HARD yall! n e ways, dude rolls up to me and asks if a certain store by me is open and i tell him theyre hours. He then apologizes for pulling out and then proceeds to tell me that he was only there to ask for gas money to make it to tuskeegee VA hospital…..He then shows me his appointment papers and his ID.  I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO CRY!!! Jeez, so i give him a little money and freaked out. Be careful who you cross paths with.

Thank you God for reminding me of this verse. Forgive me for being all too human at all times.

Now, don’t get me wrong, i love me some kids and they love me back!! Trust me i love you guys…. but the fun part is I DONT HAVE TO TAKE EM HOME!!  hahah I will deciple, train, correct, teach, love, hug, bug, mug(jk), and do whatever else i am called upon to do with them but when it comes to the house…. let a brotha chill for a lil while aight!! hahah

Well, as you all know we had a pretty bad floodig in our community recently and especially at the church. BOO HOO right? Well its easy to look at these times and think, o woe is me!!! but God is doing something great at our church. It turns out that we have been saving up for a long time to take up our carpet and put down new carpet because ours was pretty bad and now because of the fact that we were blessed enough to have flood insurance, we get the carpet and its paid for by insurance!!!! PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME for that one!!! 

I’ve been talking to our local youth pastors and we are going to take this community by storm folks!! im ready ARE YOU??? 

Tomorrows topic will be lust and the outcomes of what it can do in our lives.

I had a poem written about all the horrible things that happened last Thursday but it just didn’t seem right in such a time of grief. I remember when things like this happen like most people do where i was ans what i was doing. I remember sitting at my job at the Sprint store and thinking “wow, this is great! I’m gonna have no customers to bugg me today! yay for me!” These words have come to haunt me ever since.

As i drive down my street and t all the surrounding roads and see all the carpet on the sidewalks and countless cars that will be totaled by insurance, all i can think is how selfish can i be? All of these people who obviously have no flood insurance because no one gets flood insurance in Montgomery Alabama went through all of this grief and sorrow and I’m happy because i get to work a little less!!?? wow

Its times like this also when i realize how truly blessed i am as well! I am so grateful to have a wonderful God who gives me hope, so even if this horrible thing had hurt my home or life, i can realize that what is down here is only the beginning and material things mean nothing. It was so sad to me when i had a normally chipper customer the other day say when i asked her “Hey how are ya today?” she replied horrible. What a thing to say. I simply thank God for the hope and assurance he has given to me.

All of our hearts and prayers go out to those in need and those who have lost someone through this tragedy. But if you are reading this blog and are a Christian, BE ENCOURAGED because God is our provision in times of need and he will be there for you. If you are not a Christian, i want to invite you to see the wonderful peace i have in my life through Jesus Christ. Thank you and God Bless

Here i am back at work. Yesterday was a great day at the church, with class going just as i had planned and with plenty of feedback in our open discussion class. We talked about depression and how it can affect our lives. We discussed our ideas on the reasons for depression in our society and also our views on just how real this issue is in our lives every day. Im reminded o every single day of this when i hear people say im just a little depressed of something of the sort.

We need to understand that our joy comes from God! What other religious group can say that other than Christians!!! Remember that joy is a decision do live your lives with a smile and let someone who may be going through a depression see it. Introduce them to Christ so that they can understand what real hope and Joy is.

Wednesday we will be talking about excuses…… Lets see what excues i get today.. ill let ya know. see ya wed!
